If this is an important part of the home buying decision, buyers must check with the local school district to investigate current school district boundaries, any proposed or contemplated changes to those boundaries, choice of schools within those boundaries, and the likelihood of a child being assigned to a particular school. Each school district has its own rules regarding school assignments, and these rules may change at any time with little notice. For these reasons, brokers cannot represent or guarantee that any buyer for any particular property will be able to attend any particular school.

In addition, some school districts have experienced financial and academic achievement difficulties and, as a result, may face bankruptcy, reorganization or takeover by a state administrator. These and any other factors or concerns of buyers should be investigated by buyers prior to removing inspection contingencies in a purchase agreement.
